Recycling and Waste

The wheelie bins are collected weekly on Thursdays – green bin one week, grey bin the next. The green bin is for recyclable waste and there is a strict list of allowable material. The grey bin is for non-recyclable waste, which goes to landfill.

There is also a garden waste collection service (brown bin) which is collected on the same Thursday as the green bin. This currently costs approx. £40 per year.

More information on collection dates and what can and can’t be recycled is available on the District Council’s Waste & Recycling pages.

Please put glass in the bottle banks outside the Village Hall. The village hall gets an income from these. There is a further glass re-cycling facility at The Erpingham Arms, which also supports the Village Hall.

The nearest household waste disposal sites are at Hilltop on the A148 near Sheringham and at Meeting Hill near North Walsham. These are operated by Norfolk County Council.
